Born in Maputo, Mozambique and grew up playing the guitar in the idiosyncratic style of the local fingerpicking street musicians, which is remarkably similar to that of Mark Knopfler. He's a great guitarist but it was his voice that convinced Alan Clark that he was the perfect front man for The Straits, which has elements of Knopfler mixed in with his own unmistakable, original sound. Also frontman of popular Kent band Waterhorse. Alan Clark, keyboardist for Dire S! traits since 1980. Worked with Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan. Chris White on the sax, has played and recorded with a host of artists including Paul McCartney, Aztec Camera, Robbie Williams, Joe Cocker, Mark Knopfler and of course, Dire Straits from '85-'89 and '90-'92. Mick Féat, the fab bass player. Worked with artists like Art Garfunkel, David Gilmour, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Tina Turner and Justin Haywood, while also forging a career as a composer and singer.
